6 Frizzy Hair Dos & Don'ts

TO GET YOU THROUGH THE SUMMER

SUMMER IS ALL ABOUT GOING OUT AND ENJOYING LIFE OUTDOORS. IT’S ABOUT FUN ACTIVITIES AND TAKING PHOTOS WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE TO MAKE MEMORIES. BUT THAT LAST PART MIGHT BE YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING IF YOU HAVE FRIZZY HAIR.

You know how it goes: You take a selfie, look at it, find your hair standing out awkwardly, delete it and repeat! You can spend hours trying to take a nice shot but all you see is frizz, frizz and more FRIZZ!

You’ve probably tried everything to fight the mess, from home recipes to pricy anti-frizz products - But nothing works. And once summer arrives, the issue intensifies, especially if you are living in the Middle East. Countries in this region experience some of the toughest summers in the world, where humidity, heat and UV radiation form the perfect recipe for frizzy hair.

So, are you ready to protect your hair from this summer’s frizz? Here is a top-notch list of the dos and don’ts for those who suffer from fizzy hair:

SOMETIMES, WE DO THINGS THAT MIGHT WORSEN THE FRIZZ WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING. BUT FRIZZY HAIR SHOULD BE HANDLED CAREFULLY TO PREVENT IT FROM GOING POOFY.

DON’T USE HEATING TOOLS

You might think that by using heat-styling tools such as irons and blow dryers, you are straightening and taming your hair, but this could be disastrous to the frizz. When you excessively use such tools, you are damaging the hair fibers, stripping them of moisture and adding more roughness to their texture - And these are the last things you want to do to your hair if you’re looking to avoid frizz. When your hair is dehydrated it’s much easier for humidity to come in and cause frizz.

Styling your hair with heating tools will not prevent that, once you get out of the house, into the streets and under the burning sun, your hair will frizz madly.

DON’T TOUCH TOO MUCH

It is very addictive to just play with your hair whenever you get the chance to. You do it automatically and you do it anywhere. Maybe you’re doing it right now while reading this article!

We get it. You probably do it unconsciously, but you might be harming your hair. When you keep touching it, moving it to the right, left, and back; you could be increasing friction, which causes the frizzy look on your hair that you hate so much.

DON’T USE POOR HAIR PRODUCTS

Not all hair products are created equally! Some of them can severely deprive your hair of the needed moisture, proteins and lipids, which are crucial to keeping your locks smooth and sealed. Frizz always searches for the perfect environment to surprise you. Don’t give it that!

CHANGE THE BAD HABITS. IT’S ALL IN YOUR HANDS! START ADOPTING A NEW ROUTINE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS TO TACKLE AND FIX FRIZZ.
