Hair coloring is a trend that’s here to stay. All the stunning shades can not only transform your looks but also make a statement about one’s personality. However, bright colors require your hair to be bleached to get the true tone. While coloured hair looks great from afar when you do it yourself, you realize the damage, dryness, and hair fall that it brings along. Colored or dyed hair causes great damage to your hair strands and dries up all its moisture. It stresses the hair by stripping away its natural oils, nutrients, and lipids, which weakens it and eventually leads to breakage.

SO, LET’S DIG A BIT DEEPER AND SEE WHY HAIR COLORING LEADS TO HAIR FALL.

1. THE PROCEDURE:

While colouring the hair, the hairstylists rub and comb the hair strands in a different direction causing the manipulation of the hair shafts. Extensive force is applied in order to change the direction and get to every part of the hair. This loosens the hair from the roots and eventually causes hair fall.

2. DISRUPTION OF PROTEIN:

Human hair is made of protein, which makes it quite essential for healthy hair. One of the most common reasons for hair fall due to coloring and dyeing is the physical weakening of the hair strand by the disruption of the protein backbone.

3. THE PEROXIDE EFFECT:

Peroxide is responsible for removing the pigment from the hair shaft and turns them into blonde colours. Peroxide enters the hair shaft and releases oxygen, which breaks down the eumelanin pigment in order to lighten the hair color to achieve greater results, especially with tones of dark blues, greens, etc. Bleaching hair without using peroxide is not quite possible…so ladies, the damage is bound to happen!
